Look out for our next competition coming soon.

Lazy Gramophone Press is running a competition to find a writer and an illustrator to contribute to our next quasi-quarterly collection of illustrated short stories and verse. Back in 2007/08 we released four such booklets to great acclaim. With the sun in our eyes and warmth in our hearts (not whiskey warmth but pre-summer warmth) we are bringing the series back to life.
So. Our next booklet has the theme of "Skeletons in the Closet". This booklet will contain six short stories each accompanied by an illustration. The booklet's first five short stories and illustrations will be comprised of contributions from our in house artists and illustrators. However, in order to find the sixth writer and the sixth illustrator, we are looking for submissions from writers/illustrators currently residing outside the Lazy camp. The new booklet will be printed as a limited edition of 50 copies with a letter-pressed cover and high quality full colour internal print.
WRITERS:
If you are interested please send along the first sixteen words of your story/poem themed on "Skeletons in the Closet" to
danny@lazygramophone.com. The four most intriguing entries will then be asked to submit their full story and then one of these will be chosen to take part. Finished stories/poems to be no longer than 350 words.
ILLUSTRATORS:
If you are interested please send along a pdf or a link to your most recent work to
danny@lazygramophone.com.The four most interesting illustrators will then
battle on a greased log armed with spiked sticks proceed to the next round where a panel of judges not dissimilar from the X-factor or BGT will hammer away at big red buzzers until a decision has been made.
The closing date for entries is April 30th and a decision will be made by May 4th. The booklets will be printed for sale at our June 13th Lazy Sunday gig at The Old Queens Head Islington.
(All copyright and ownership remains with the writer/artist. You are merely allowing us to print your work in this limited edition booklet.)
