Amiri Baraka I like your style -
and the way you feel to the end of yourself
making music of matter and air
and knowing how the solidity
becomes the movement you make.
I like that you do not pressure the stars
to shine for you -
but understand that the spaces they leave
are as significant as the spaces they fill.
Those spaces are songs valiantly sung -
like the song your daughter sings into her hands
clasped around the melody you have forgotten to see -
she is talking to you, sounding the notes
